OK, you will never confuse me for a rapper, but those are the four words that describe this economy right now. I have not been a fan of this company because of its losses and its inability to pivot to profit. You have to add the DoorDash numbers to the Toast numbers to see the strength of the go-out and go-in parts of the economy. The S & P 500 broke past 5,000 for the first time ever this week, but investors will see if the momentum can stick in the week ahead with more inflation data and earnings results on deck. On Friday, both the S & P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were headed for their fifth straight week of gains, and their 14th winning week in 15. FactSet data shows S & P 500 earnings are tracking to have risen 2.8% in the fourth quarter, which would be a second straight quarter of earnings growth, and some expect that positive momentum will remain intact in the weeks ahead. NEW YORK, June 27 (Reuters) - The end of the COVID-19 pandemic has weighed not just on demand for Purell but also on efforts to sell the maker of the hand sanitizer. SC Johnson, Ecolab Inc, Essity AB (ESSITYa.ST) and Kimberly-Clark Corp (KMB.N) were among the companies that participated in the auction, the sources said. It is unclear whether the family will now hold on to Gojo and try to seek a sale in the future. The company expanded into skincare and invented Purell, an alcohol-based hand cleaner which dries on its own, in 1988. The company launched Purell in the consumer market in 1997.
